Riverside City (8-1 overall) began Friday's (Sept. 23) action with an 18-5 win over the Diablo Valley College (DVC) Vikings. RCC erupted for seven goals in the first and third quarters to lead, 7-1, at the end of the first quarter, 10-4 at halftime, and 17-5 heading into the final quarter.

In the nightcap on Friday, Riverside broke a 2-2 tie at the end of the first quarter with a five-goal second quarter en route to a 12-6 win over the West Valley College (WVC) Vikings. The RCC win avenged a 9-8 loss (RCC's first and only setback of the season to date) to West Valley in the championship game of the WVC-hosted 52nd Annual Nyquist Invitational Tournament (Sept. 10).

RCC sophomore utility Kyle Christian (Riverside / M.L. King HS '15) led the Tigers with four goals and added one steal. Raca added a pair of goals, two assists and one steal.

McVeigh was in goal again and logged ten saves and two steals.

Riverside continues Cuesta Tournament action on Saturday, Sept. 24, when it faces San Joaquin Delta College (SJDC) Mustangs at 8 a.m. and then will take on host Cuesta at 11:15 a.m. RCC edged SJDC, 13-11, and the defeated Cuesta, 9-7, in a semifinal game of the WVC-hosted Nyquist Tournament (Sept. 9-10).
