Tigers Tame Visiting Orange Coast, 14-7, in Orange Empire Conference Action Wednesday

RIVERSIDE -- Leading from start to finish, the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers men's water polo team defeated the Orange Coast College (OCC) Pirates, 14-7, in an Orange Empire Conference (OEC) game Wednesday (Oct. 14) at RCC's Riverside Aquatics Center.

Riverside (11-6 overall, 2-1 OEC) jumped out to a 5-3 lead after the first quarter and led, 6-4, at halftime before pulling away after three quarters, 9-5.

Against OCC, RCC freshman center Jonah Saenz (Riverside / Poly HS '15) had three goals and two steals, and RCC freshman driver Lazar Raca (Belgrade, SERBIA) had three goals and one steal. RCC freshman goalkeeper Dustin Shaw (Riverside / Poly HS '15) had 12 saves, two assists and two steals.

Riverside will take a breal from OEC competition when it hosts its annual RCC Mini Tournament on Friday, Oct. 16, at the on-campus Riverside Aquatics Complex. On Friday at 9:15 a.m., RCC will host the Long Beach City College Vikings before taking on the visiting Grossmont College Griffins at 4:10 p.m.
