Grossmont Defeats Riverside, 20-11, to End Tigers' Men's Water Polo Season

GLENDORA -- Falling behind early, the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers men's water polo team had its season come to an end with a 20-11 loss last Thursday (Nov. 13) to the Grossmont College Griffins in the opening round of the Southern California Regional Tournament hosted by Citrus College.

Riverside (8-18 overall), seeded No. 10 in the regional tournament, fell behind, 6-2, after the first quarter and trailed, 11-4, at halftime. Grossmont, seeded No. 7, improved to 14-8 overall.

RCC freshman driver Justin Rohn (San Bernardino / San Gorgonio '14), who is pictured, paced the Tigers with two goals, two assists and two steals. Fellow freshman driver Joseph Rivas (San Clemente / Temescal Canyon '14) also had two goals for the Tigers. Freshman goaltender Jeremy Mariscal (Santa Ana / Jurupa Valley '14) logged 13 saves for RCC.
