Day 2 of RCC Invitational Tournament

On the second day of the Riverside City College Invitational tournament, the RCC men's water polo team defeated two top 10 state ranked teams by getting wins over #4 Orange Coast College by a score of 9-7 and #9 Ventura College 11-6. 
 
In the first game, RCC played a close, hard fought match with the Orange Coast Pirates that went into the fourth quarter with the Tigers leading by a one goal margin, 6-5. The Tigers strong defensive effort held the Pirates to only one goal in the fourth while getting the victory, 9-7. Leading the Riverside men were Sophomores Christopher Forte, with 4 goals and 3 drawn ejections and Nicho Morabito in the goal with 18 saves.
 
In the afternoon game, after going down 0-3 in the first quarter, The Tigers were able to take an 11-3 run for the final three quarters to an 11-6 victory over a tough non-conference opponent. In the win, RCC was led by sophomore Brody Wood on the counter-attack with 3 goals. Sophomores Kelly Stevens and Forte each added 2 goals apiece.
 
The Riverside men improved their record to 8-4; 1-1 in conference.
