Alec Jones Named RCC’s Kinesiology & Athletics Student of Distinction

Sophomore thrower Alec Jones has been a staple of excellence both on and off the playing field. After earning a pair of gold medals at the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Southern Regional Championships this past weekend, Jones was named the Riverside City College Student of Distinction for Kinesiology and Athletics.

Jones has been a leader in the classroom while currently holding a grade-point-average of 3.75. His degree will be earned in Kinesiology with a focus on Physical Therapy. He will be honored at the Riverside Convention Center on Monday, May 27.

Hall was recently named the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Field Athlete of the Year. He is currently the state leader in the Hammer with a mark of 183' 7" which was set at the Cerritos Invitational in mid-April. He is the favorite to win the state title in this event. He also holds the second-strongest time in the Discus with a mark of 165' 2".
