Harris, Lufkin Helm Men’s Track & Field in OEC Multi Championships  

The Riverside City College men's track & field program hosted the Orange Empire Conference Multi Dual Championships the past two days concluding this evening at home in Wheelock Stadium. Both sides had very strong results with the majority of the Tigers qualifying for Southern California Regionals.

Freshman Deryhan Harris had an impressive day by defeating last's years OEC champion in the Decathlon by earning a total of 5,454 points. He began his day with a third-place showing in the 100 M with mark of 11.83. He continued on to place first in the Long Jump (19' 9.75") High Jump (5' 8.5") and the Pole Vault (10' 7").

Sophomore Tyler Lufkin placed third overall in the Decathlon with a total of 4,797. He earned a first-place showing in the 1500M with a mark of 4:24.35. He earned a second place showing in the 100 M (11.65), Discus (82'), and Javelin (129').

Freshman Justin Reed strung together some strong results as he placed first in the Shot Put (33' 3") and the 100 M (11.53), while taking second place in the High Jump (5' 6").

The Tigers will be in action tomorrow at the Ben Brown Invitational on the road at 8 a.m.
