Tigers Men's Tracksters Win Ninth Consecutive OEC Championship

HUNTINGTON BEACH -- The Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers Men's Track and Field team won its ninth consecutive Orange Empire Conference (OEC) championship on Friday (Apr. 24), scoring the second-most points in the history of the OEC.

Riverside scored 380 points, the second-most in Conference history. (The record is 441 points by the RCC men's 2013 team.) Second place went to Orange Coast College with 180 points.

"The Tigers had 10 individual conference champions and both relays won the conference title.  The attached picture shows all the men and women individual conference champions. The RCC Tigers' women's team also won the conference title in dominating fashion," said RCC head men's track and field coach Jim McCarron.

The Tigers will be competing next Saturday, May 2, at the Southern California Preliminaries at Cerritos College in Norwalk. The California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Championships will be held Friday-Saturday, May 15-16, at the College of San Mateo.
