Bio

Yancey was  recognized as the 2018 Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Men's Tennis Coach of the Year for his second recognition since 2016. Additionally, he was named the 2018 ITA Region I Men's Coach of the Year. During this season, he led three athletes to OEC All-Conference Singles recognition along with a pair of doubles to OEC All-Conference accolades. 

He comes to RCC after serving as an assistant coach at Palomar College where he helped both the men's and women's teams for seven years while acting as an adjunct professor.

Yancey, a Carlsbad, California native, was a member of the Palomar College Tennis Team before he transferred to Concordia University - Irvine on an academic and athletic scholarship.

As a collegiate player, Yancey played on the Comets' 2004 Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) championship team. In 2005, he earned the team's Most Improved Player of the Year Award. Additionally, he was a two-time All-Conference Player (Pacific Coast Conference) in Singles and Doubles as well as an Ojai Quarter-Finalist in Doubles (2004).

At Concordia University - Irvine, he was an active member of the team which reached a season-high ranking of fifth in the nation in the NAIA. Furthermore, he was a member of a Team Quarter-Final finish at Nationals in Mobile, Alabama.

Yancey graduated from Palomar College in 2006 earning an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts & Studies. In 2008, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise & Sport Science. Yancey received his Master of Science in Education with an emphasis in Physical Education in 2011 from Azusa Pacific University.

In 2013, Yancey was honored as Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Community College Assistant Coach of the Year. He is currently a member of the Professional Tennis Registry and is a Certified Teaching Professional.
