Men’s Tennis Qualifies All Singles & Doubles Teams

It was a banner year for the Riverside City College men's tennis team as they competed in the final day of the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Championships on Friday at Saddleback College. Every singles and double teams advanced and qualified or the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Championships in Ojai, CA.

SINGLES

After losing in the second round yesterday, three singles players were entered into the back draw to compete for a chance to qualify for the state tournament.

Freshman Austin Harvill got the job done with an 8-5 win, backed by an 8-5 victory from freshman Emilio Recchia. Freshman Raphael Delente cruised through his singles match for an 8-0 win.

Sophomores Carlos Rullan, Rafael Rullan and freshman Emilio Real qualified after yesterday's victories.

DOUBLES

Sophomore duo C. Rullan and R. Rullan automatically qualified for the championships after being tabbed the conference's top seed. They did not need to pick up a racquet.

Sophomore Anant Bhika and Harvill teamed up and qualified with an 8-5 win, backed by freshman duo Recchia and Real bagging an easy 8-0 crown.

No doubles team needed to enter into the back draw after dominating performances.
