Men’s Tennis Dominates in Conference Opener

The Riverside City College men's tennis team opened up Orange Empire Conference (OEC) action on Tuesday afternoon against the Orange Coast College Pirates. The Tigers worked to an easy sweep in double play followed by strong singles performances leading to an 8-1 victory.

Sophomore duo Rafael Rullan and Carlos Rullan opened up play at the top of the double's lineup with an 8-6 win. Freshman duo Enrico Recchia and Emilio Real followed with an 8-2 win at the second position, while sophomore Anaht Bhika and freshman Raphael Delente backed them with an 8-5 win at the third slot.

The Tigers took five of the six singles matches with all victories coming in straight sets. R. Rullan held down the top spot with a 6-2, 6-3 win. Real followed in the second position with a 6-2, 6-1 victory, while C. Rullan earned a win at the fourth slot with the final count reading 6-1, 6-2.

Delente finished off the match with a 6-2, 7-5 win at the fifth position, backed by a 6-3, 6-3 win from freshman Austin Harvell.
