Evan Parry Named OEC Men’s Tennis Coach of the Year

After just two years at the helm of the Riverside City College men's tennis team, Head Coach Evan Parry has been named the 2021 Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Men's Tennis Coach of the Year.

"Even though it was a shortened season, I was extremely humbled when I was notified that I was named Coach of the Year," said Parry. "It really confirmed the work my assistant coach and I put in to get all of the guys to buy into our philosophy and culture."

In a year comparable to no other, Parry managed to successfully construct a roster that competed for the top spot in conference. He led the Tigers to a 7-2 record that featured six conference wins and one non-conference win.

All the Tiger wins were dominant with five of the victories coming at an eight to nine set margin. The only two defeats came at the hand of the conference champions.

Since coming on board, Parry holds a 15-7 record with his first season being cut short due to COVID-19.

"My hope for the program moving forward is to build on the success on and off the court from the previous seasons, ultimately win a conference title and elevate the team to one of the best two-year programs in the state and country."
