Trustfull Breezes through Quarter Finals, Gets Bumped in Semis to Cap Season

Sophomore Kayne Trustfull of the Riverside City College tennis team competed in Day Three of the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Individual Championships on Saturday in Ojai, CA. Trustfull strung together an incredible run that saw him reign supreme in the quarter finals, but drop in the semifinals to the top-seeded player.

Trustfull faced off against the fifth-seeded Solal Cherqui from Ventura and put together a strong performance. He defeated him in two sets with the final scores reading 6-2, 6-3.

However, he came up against a tough competitor in the top-seeded Kent Hunter from Cerritos College. He eventually fell to him by the final scores of 6-2, 6-1.

Trustfull was the lone Orange Empire Conference (OEC) member to advance to the semifinals and just one of two OEC members to reach the quarterfinal round.
