Riverside Tennis Hits Individual State Championships with High Hopes

The Riversides City College tennis program has experienced a breakout year highlighted by the men's side earning an Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Co-Conference championship and advancing to the second round of California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Southern Regional playoff round. Both side will embark on a new journey in beginning on Thursday, April 26th in the Individual State Championships for Singles & Doubles in Ojai, CA.

The men saw a pair of individual qualifiers highlighted by freshman Kayne Trustfull earning the fourth overall seed. Trustfull was named the OEC Player of the Year after finishing the season going 15-3 overall with a 9-0 conference record. Freshman Thomas Pidoux earned the 12th seed in the tournament as well.

Trustfull and Pidoux will team up as the fifth-ranked doubles team, while sophomore Sami Akouz and sophomore Thierry van Os will link up for doubles as they 12th-ranked squad. Freshman Ellie-Noe Nicolay and freshman Miles Clark follow shortly behind as the 14th-seeded squad.

As for the women, sophomore Ellia Roasdo and freshman Heather Graf will compete in the doubles championships as the eighth seed.
