Andra & Akouz Advance in Round of 16 Singles on Friday
CYPRESS -- After having five individuals receive byes in the round of 64, two members of the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers men's tennis team won their matches in the round of 32 Thursday (Apr. 13) at the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Championships, hosted at Cypress College.
In Day One at the OEC Singles and Doubles Championshps, RCC's James Andra and Sami Akouz advanced in the singles draw with a chance to qualify for the Ojai Regional/State Championships. In doubles play, Sami Akouz and Thierry van Os have already qualified in doubles for the Ojai Regional/State Championships.
A consolation draw for singles and doubles to determine the 13 singles and doubles qualifiers will be determined at the end of Day Two.
