Traveling Tigers Topple Host Mt. San Jacinto, 7-2, Tuesday; RCC Improved to 2-0

RIVERSIDE -- Sweeping through all six singles individual matches, the 2017 Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers men's tennis team posted a 7-2 non-conference win over the host Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC) Eagles Tuesday (Jan. 31).

Riverside City (2-0 overall) also won at No. 1 doubles.

RCC is ranked seventh in Southern California which mirrors last season's final ranking of seventh in the region. The Tigers also are ranked tenth in the state.

MSJC (0-1 overall) won at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles.

The Tigers return to the courts on Thursday, Feb. 2, when they host the Santa Barbara City College Vaqueros for a non-conference match which begins at 1 p.m.

Riverside City was 10-9 overall, 5-5 (fourth place) in the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) in 2016 under then first-year RCC head coach Thomas Yancey, who is entering his second year at RCC with the 2017 campaign.
