Tigers Rebound from Loss, Blank Palomar, 9-0, to Improve to 5-1
RIVERSIDE -- Rebounding from a difficult loss two days earlier, the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers men's tennis team won its fifth match in six starts with a 9-0 non-conference home win over the Palomar College (PC) Comets Thursday afternoon (February 13) at RCC's Fran Bushman Courts.
Riverside (5-1) dropped a 6-3 non-conference road verdict to the host Glendale College Vaqueros last Tuesday (Feb. 11), but bounced back with a resounding win over winless Palomar (0-3).
RCC freshman Conner Stephenson (Riverside / River Springs HS) got the Tigers started with his "Eco Boost" performance taking down his opponent 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 4 singles spot. Two other Tigers blanked their singles opponents as well.
With the win, the Tigers will begin Orange Empire Conference play with a home match against the Orange Coast College Pirates on Thursday, Feb. 20, at 2 p.m.
