Tigers See Strong Performances, Broken Record on First Day of 3C2A Championship

Riverside City College had a solid first day at the 3C2A Swim and Dive State Championship Thursday after seeing several All-State (top eight) performances.

RCC's 200-yard free relay team set a new program record and took second overall, finishing in one minute, 22.10 seconds. Yousef Nahali got the Tigers off to a good start before Kevin Mora took over the swimming. Lennon Franklin kept pace in the third spot before Zekiah Serrano anchored the team with the fastest 50-yard time to secure the second-place finish.

On the 3-meter diving board, Vincent Rhoulhac took fifth overall with a score of 167.15 to grab All-State honors.

Earlier in the day, Nahali and Serrano faced off in the same heat of the 50-yard free, with Nahali posting the fifth-fastest prelim time to advance to the finals in the afternoon. Nahali clocked in at 20.80 seconds in the finals, taking fourth overall to earn his second All-State recognition.

The Tigers' 400-yard medley relay team (Nahali, Nathan Dulkis, Garcia, and Mora) finished the day with a time of 3:37.85 to take 12th overall.
