Tigers Take Second Place at Golden West Sprint Invitational last Friday

HUNTINGTON BEACH -- Winning ten of 15 events, the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers men's swimming team posted a second-place finish at the Golden West College Sprint Meet Invitational last Friday (Feb. 26).

Riverside compiled 1,208.5 points to finish in second place. Host Golden West won the meet with 1,529 points. Fellow Orange Empire Conference (OEC) member Saddleback College finished third with 803.5 points.

Palomar was fourth (609.5 points), followed by Los Angeles Valley (fifth, 589.5), Cerritos (sixth, 508), Grossmont (seventh, 412), Rio Hondo (eighth, 292.5), Southwestern (ninth, 218), and Santa Ana (tenth, 120).

Of RCC's ten wins, the Tigers won all four relays, and sophomore Adrien Deloffre won all three of his individual events: the 50-yard breaststroke (:29.66), the 100-yard breaststroke (:59.62), and the 200-yard freestyle (1:44.99). 

Additionally, among the Tigers' ten victories, RCC set five meet records: the 200-yard medley relay (1:37:60), the 100-yard breaststroke (Deloffre, 59:11), the 400-yard medley relay (3:35:03), the 100-yard freestyle (Maxence Bouvier, 46:01) and the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:10:74).

RCC will next compete in approximately two weeks in the Chaffey Invitational on Friday and Saturday, March 11 & 12.
