Men’s Golf Edged in Home Match, Places Second Overall

INDIVIDUAL SCORES

The Riverside City College men's golf team hosted its second invitational of the season on Monday morning at the Victoria Country Club. The Tigers placed second overall with a stoke count of 388 which was 23 strokes off the leader.

College of the Desert placed first with a team score of 365, while Riverside was sandwiched between third-place finishing Mt. San Antonio at 399.

Leading the charge was freshman Bingcheng Zheng as he finished one over at 73. He ended his front nine three over, but trimmed his score to four under on the back nine which featured five birdies.

Freshman Kyle Hartford continued his strong play after finishing six over at 78. He thrived on his back nine carding three birdies, but a double bogey to end his round put him at two over his expected score.

Freshman Cameron Hartling carded a 77 to round out the top scores. Despite beginning the day by birdie three of the opening four holes, he landed five over.
