Riverside Ties for First Place at Eagle Golf Classic, Medlock Medals

The Riverside City College men's golf team participated in the Eagle Golf Classic hosted by Mt. San Jacinto College at Soboba Spring Country Club on Wednesday morning. The Tigers competed at a high level with sophomore Jordan Medlock taking home the individual championship. Riverside tied for first place after a card off.

The Tigers shot a team score of 377 which tied for first place with Orange Empire Conference (OEC) foe Saddleback. They lost on a card off due to Saddleback having a stronger combined back-nine round. The tiebreaker went on the second criteria the first criteria was nulled due to both team's number six golfer shooting an eight over (80).

 Riverside's Medlock shot a classic low two-under 70 to haul in the gold medal. He shot two birdies on the front nine followed by two consecutive birdies on the 14th and 15th holes. A pair of bogeys hindered him from landing in the 60s. Nevertheless, he takes home the gold.

Sophomore Theoren Delehanty was one over par with a 73. He started off slow by landing three over on the front nine, but recorded two birdies on the 10th and 13th hole leading to a two-under on the back nine.

Sophomore Yarzar Aung landed four-over at 76 with one birdie on the day, while sophomore Kyle Harford finished with a six over at 78.
