Men’s Golf Places Fifth in OEC Host Match

The Riverside City College golf team hosted the second Orange Empire Conference (OEC) match of the season on their home links at the Victoria Country Club on Monday morning. Riverside placed fifth overall with a total stroke count of 387.

The Tigers penciled a pair of four-over scores at 76 compliments of freshman Theoren Delehanty and sophomore Conner Weissburg. Weisberg finished the front nine one-over highlighted by a birdie on the second hole. He began the back nine with a birdie on the 10th hole, but was haunted by a double-bogey on the 14th hole.

Delehanty remained a consistent two-over split between the front and back nine. He did not card a birdie, but only missed par on six holes. Sophomore Ryan DeHart trailed by one stroke with an overall count of 77. After experiencing a rough third hole, he responded with two birdies on the front nine and a birdie on the back nine.

Sophomore Jordan Reynoso acted as the top golfer for Riverside and carded a 78, while freshman Jared Jenkins followed with an 80.

Riverside will continue action on Monday, April 1 against the Orange Coast College pirates at Costa Mesa Country Club.
