Men’s Golf Places Third at Tustin Ranch

Orange Empire Conference (OEC) action continued for the Riverside City College men's golf squad as they traveled to Tustin Ranch Golf Club in Tustin, CA on Wednesday morning. Riverside placed third amongst the field after earning a total stroke count of 384.

The Tigers were in great shape entering into the back nine, but a handful of rough holes hindered a top finish. Despite the final outcome, sophomore swinger Michael Herrera (Moreno Valley, CA) earned the top finish as he carded a 74. He finished his front nine on an even note highlighted by two birdies. He continued on the back nine to hole just one birdie and finish two over.

Sophomore Brian Nielsen (Riverside, CA) and freshman Ryan DeHart (Riverside, CA) each finished with a 77. Nielsen was the most consistent by recording 13 pars, but no birdies. DeHart finished with four birdies, but experienced a rough 18th.

Freshman tandem Damian Quintanilla (Beamount, CA) and Conner Weissberg (Riverside, CA) finished with scores reading 78.

The Tigers (9-11) sit fourth in conference and will continue action on Monday, March 19th at Black Gold Country Club hosted by Mt. San Antonio. Tee time is set for 11 a.m.
