Michael Herrera Wins Eagle Golf Classic

The Riverside City College men's golf team the links on Wednesday evening and competed in the Eagle Golf Classic hosted by Mt. San Jacinto College. Sophomore Michael Herrera (Moreno Valley, CA) paced the Tigers and the field as he shot a course-low 72 to haul in the individual gold medal. As a team, the Riverside placed sixth overall and fourth amongst Orange Empire Conference (OEC) teams with a team mark of 386.

Herrera was a steady swinger for the Tigers after winning the classic. He earned his score after carding four birdies on the day.

Sophomore Brian Nielsen (Riverside, CA), who reigned supreme in the Tee-Off Classic the precious week, finished four strokes behind with a 74. He holed a pair of birdies and splits them between the front and the back. Freshman Conner Weissberg (Riverside, CA) followed with a 78 and shot two birdies as well.

Freshman Jason Roberts (Riverside, CA) followed with a 79, while freshman Ryan DeHart (Riverside, CA) carded an 81.

The Tigers will host the Riverside Invitational at the Victoria Golf Course on Monday, February 26th at 11 a.m.
