Tigers Take Third at "Pnoo-monia" Open February 13.

VICTORVILLE -- Finishing third out of 16 teams, the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers men's golf team had three pairs of golfers compete at the annual "Pnoomonia" two-man, better-ball tournament at Spring Valley Lake Country Club February 13.

Riverside City carded a collective 198, two shots behind second-place College of the Canyons (194) and 16 strokes behind first-place Cypress College, which shot 182. Finishing fourth was Orange Coast College (OCC) at 199 and Mt. San Antonio College was fifth (205).

RCC sophomore Jordan Sams (Lake Arrowhead / Rim of the World HS '10) -- who is pictured -- and freshman Michael Herrera (Moreno Valley - Valley View HS '16) carded a 64. 

RCC sophomore Everett Najera (Corona - Corona HS '15) and sophomore Nick Bridge (Riverside - Norte Vista HS '15) teamed for a low score of 66 and  

Tigers' sophomore Robby Melton (Riverside - Citrus Hill HS '15) and freshman Brian Nielsen (Riverside - Poly HS) shot a 68.

Riverside will next compete on Wednesday, Feb. 15, when it participates in the Eagle Classic, hosted by Mt. San Jacinto College at Soboba Springs Golf Course. The match will also count as an Orange Empire Conference (OEC) match for OEC member colleges.
