CHINO HILLS -- Under windy conditions, the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers men's golf team finished third in the morning round (south course) and fifth in the afternoon round (north course) at the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Championship Finals at Los Serranos Country Club Monday (Apr. 25).

With winds in the 25 miles per hour range, Riverside City (27-28 in OEC play) shot a collective team score of 398 (third place) for the first 18 holes and then fired a 419 (fifth place) for the final 36 holes.

The Santiago Canyon College (SCC) Hawks shot a collective team score of 377 (first place) with the Orange Coast College (OCC) Pirates (390) and RCC (398) finishing second and third, respectively.  Orange Coast (395) won the afternoon round with Cypress (399) placing second and Santiago Canyon (413) finishing third.

OCC's Marcus De La Rosa was the individual medalist with a 36-hole score of 149 (77-72) while teammate Jordan Meas (77-78), Austin Trcka of Santiago Canyon (73-82), and Michael Lascari of Santiago Canyon (73-82) each carded scores of 155.

De La Rosa was the low medalist for the season, earning Orange Empire Conference Player of the Year honors and was joined on the all-conference list by Pirate teammates Austin Briggs, Connor Hurst and Jordan Meas. Trcka and Lascari also made the all-conference list along with Santiago Canyon teammate Ryan Mendoza. Dylan Hall and Claudio Phillips – both of Cypress College – made the all-conference team, as well as Paul Bradvica of RCC.

RCC sophomore Paul Bradvica (Riverside / Notre Dame HS '14) -- who is pictured -- shot a 78 and 86 for a total score of 164.

Orange Coast, Santiago Canyon, and Cypress will each send its teams to the Southern California Regional Championship scheduled for Monday, May 9, at the Bear Creek Golf Course in Murrieta. There will be two 18-hole rounds (one in the morning and one in the afternoon) beginning at 7 a.m.

Bradvica will play as an individual representing Riverside City College and Joe Gordon of Irvine Valley College defeated RCC's Everett Najera on the third hole of a playoff for the other individual spot.

Najera, a freshman from Corona (Corona HS '15), shot 159 (79-80). Next for RCC was freshman Nick Bridge (Riverside / Norte Vista HS '15), who shot 162 (81-81), and freshman Jordan Sams (Lake Arrowhead / Rim of the World HS '10), who shot 163 (76-87). Bradvica was next, followed by freshman Dylan Houghton (Mira Loma / Jurupa Valley HS '13), who shot 169 (84-85).
