SANTA ANA -- In very windy conditions, the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers men's golf team struggled to its highest team score of the season last Wednesday (Apr. 2) at the Santa Ana Country Club.

Riverside City, 29-12 in Orange Empire Conference (OEC) competition, placed third on the day with a team score of 401. Host Orange Coast won the event with a team score of 377, followed by Santiago Canyon with a team score of 383.

RCC was led by Eric Cross who shot a solid 77. All the other RCC individual scores were in the 80s: Chad Hambright and Wes Hatton each shot 80, John Swierczek shot an 81, and Clay Hjulberg finished with an 83.

The Tigers will next see action on Monday, Apr. 7, when they host an OEC event at Victoria Country Club in Riverside.
