Riverside Rebounds to Post Second-place Finish at Victoria CC Monday

RIVERSIDE -- Rebounding from its previous outing thanks to better weather and playing on its home course, the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers men's golf team posted a second-place finish in an Orange Empire Conference event last Monday (Apr. 7) at Victoria Country Club, RCC's home course.

Riverside City (31-14, third-place) was runner-up (374) to winner Santiago Canyon (373). Orange Coast was third (384).

The Tigers had several strong performances. Eric Cross and Clay Hjulberg co-led RCC with even-par rounds of 72. Cross had five birdies and Hjulberg had four birdies. Josh Roquet posted a solid 75, John Swierczek shot a 76, and Chad Hambright had a 79.

Riverside will be idle for more than a week until it returns to action on Wednesday, Apr. 16, at the Oak Creek Golf Course with the Irvine Valley College Lasers hosting the event.
