CORONA -- Shooting a solid 367, the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers men's golf team posted a second-place finish in an Orange Empire Conference (OEC) match hosted by Santiago Canyon College last Wednesday (March 5) at the El Prado Golf Course.

Riverside was runner-up to the Orange Coast College (OCC) Pirates.

RCC freshman Clay Hjulberg (Riverside / Poly HS) led the Tigers with a one-under-par 71 which included four birdies. Next for RCC was freshman Eric Cross (Riverside / Poly HS) with an even-par 72, followed by Chad Hambright (Lake Elsinore / Temescal Canyon HS) at 73. Freshman Grayson Arellano (Riverside / M.L. King, Jr. HS) posted a 75 and freshman John Swierczek (Corona / Santiago HS) rounded out the scoring with a 76.

The Tigers are currently 22-8 (third place) in the OEC standings.

Riverside returns to action on Monday, Mar. 10, when it visits Tijeras Creek GC and hosted by the Saddleback College Gauchos in a match which begins at 10 a.m.
