Tigers Struggle to Finish Tied for Eighth in Eagle Classic at Soboba Springs

SAN JACINTO --  Playing in a match that also counted toward the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) standings, the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers men's golf team stuggled to an eighth-place tie in the Eagle Golf Classic Friday (Feb. 21) at the Soboba Springs Golf Course.

Riverside's collective team score of 391 was only good enough for fifth place in terms of also counting toward the OEC standings. The Santiago Canyon College (SCC) Hawks finished first in both the Classic and the conference match with a team score of 360.

Only two Tigers posted scores in the 70s. RCC freshman Eric Cross (Riverside / Poly HS had a solid round of two-under 70 and freshman Chad Hambright (Lake Elsinore / Temescal Canyon HS shot a four-over 76.
