Riverside Rebounds To Sweep All Five OEC Opponents at Navy Golf Course Wednesday

CYPRESS -- Sweeping past all five Orange Empire Conference (OEC) opponents for the second time in five meetings, the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers men's golf squad rebounded from a poor showing in its previous outing and shot a collective five-over-par 365 in an OEC match at the Navy Golf Course Seal Beach hosted by the Cypress College Chargers last Wednesday (Feb. 26).

Leading the way for the Tigers was freshman Wes Hatton (Norco / Norco HS), who tied for first with a score of 70 (two-under-par). Also tying for first at 70 was Marc Reyes of Orange Coast. Other Tigers were freshman Chad Hambright (Lake Elsinore / Temescal Canyon HS) at 72 (third place), freshman Clay Hjulberg (Riverside / Poly HS) and sophomore Josh Roquet (Riverside / Notre Dame HS) tied for seventh at 74, and John Swierczek (Corona / Santiago HS), who tied for 12th with a score of 75.

Following RCC were the Orange Coast College (OCC) Pirates in second place at 368 and the Santiago Canyon College (SCC) Hawks finished third with a 375 team score. The Cypress College Chargers finished fourth (386), the Saddleback College Gauchos were fifth (391) and the Irvine Valley College (IVC) Lasers finished sixth (393).
