Tigers Finish Fifth at "Pnoo-monia" Invitational

Finishing fifth out of ten teams, the Riverside City College (RCC) men's golf team shot a collective 209 at the annual "Pnoo-monia" Invitational Monday (Feb. 3).

The event, scheduled by Victor Valley College at the Spring Valley Lake course, features three pairs of golfers from each of the colleges participating. One of RCC's Orange Empire Conference rivals, the Orange Coast College Pirates won the event with a team score of 200.

For Riverside, freshman Chad Hambright (Lake Elsinore / Temescal Canyon) & freshman Wes Hatton (Norco / Norco HS) had the low two-man score with a 6-under 66.  Fellow Tigers golfers freshman Eric Cross (Riverside / Poly HS) & sophomore Clay Hjulberg (Riverside / Poly HS) finished with a 1-under 71,  while freshman John Swierczek (Corona / Santiago HS) & sophomore Damien Johnson (Redlands / Redlands East Valley HS) finished with a even-par 72.
