Tigers Vanquish Vaqueros

No. 28-ranked Riverside City College dominated an 84-45 victory on the road at Glendale College Saturday afternoon.

The Tigers improve to 5-2 on the year, while the Vaqueros drop to 3-5 overall.

Three Tigers finished in double figures, led by Christian Warren's 22 points on 7-of-11 shooting. Andre Skelin grabbed a double-double with 18 points (8-for-12) and 12 rebounds, while Tylon Williams chipped in 11 points (4-for-9) off the bench.

RCC almost doubled Glendale's rebounding efforts (46-to-24), with Deacon Toliver grabbing 10 boards.

As a team, the Tigers shot at a 49.1 percent, while limiting the Vaqueros to a 28.8 shooting percentage.

The Tigers jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead after Warren knocked down two three-pointers to bookend the run. RCC built up a 22-4 upper hand less than eight minutes into the half and never took its foot off the gas, holding a 40-24 lead at halftime.

RCC held as high as a 41-point cushion at one point in the game and coasted to the 84-45 victory.

Riverside returns home for a tough matchup, hosting No. 8-ranked Mt. San Antonio College on Tuesday at 1 p.m.
