No. 16 Tigers Break Triple Digits, Rout Santa Ana

For the second time this season, the Riverside City College men's basketball team scored 100 points or more against an Orange Empire Conference (OEC) opponent. Santa Ana was the latest victim on the Tigers hit list as they snagged their second-straight win by the final score of 101-75.

It was all Riverside from the get go as the team shot over 50 percent for the second-consecutive night highlighted by a 41.1 percent mark from downtown. They dominated the paint play as seen in 54 total boards to the Don's 26. More than 60 percent of the Tiger's buckets came in the paint with 60 points with 27 points coming from second-chance opportunities.

Four of the Tigers five starters landed in double-digit points with sophomore guard Edwyn Collins leading the way. After a subpar showing on Monday night, he exploded for a season-high 27 points. He hit four three pointers and the only free throw he took. Furthermore, he was two rebounds away from a double-double and added a trio of steals and assists.

Sophomore forward Amir Davis continued to act as the nucleus of the team with 12 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and two steals. It is the second time this season he has flirted with a triple double and his third double-double.

Sophomore big man Robert Ayala finished with 10 points after failing to score in double-digits the past two games. He added six rebounds in the process.

The bench brigade performed well with sophomore Zekiah LoVett and Lynden Paul each scoring eight points. Sophomore forward Sammy Richardson dropped seven points, while freshman sharp shooter Julian Alvarez finished with six points.
