Irvine Valley Leads from the Start; IVC Wins, 67-59, at Riverside Tuesday Night

RIVERSIDE -- The Irvine Valley College (IVC) Lasers led from start to finish to post a 67-59 Orange Empire Conference (OEC) victory over the host Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers men's basketball team Tuesday night (Feb. 10) at RCC's historic Arthur N. Wheelock Gymnasium.

Irvine Valley made seven of its first nine shots from the floor, including three of four on three-pointers, en route to an 18-10 advantage and was never headed.

IVC sophomore guard Ronnie Harris (Aliso Niguel HS) came off the bench to lead the Lasers with 11 points. Sophomore guards Jalen Hall (Cypress HS) and Chris Salas (El Dorado HS) each had ten points for Irvine Valley (13-11, 6-3 OEC). Sophomore forward Chris Porter (South Hills HS) had eight points and a team-high seven rebounds for the Lasers.

For Riverside (9-16, 4-6 OEC), sophomore forward Taj Adams (Los Angeles / Fairfax HS) had a game-high 16 points and a game-high eight rebounds. Freshman guard Sage Woodruff (Los Angeles / Fairfax HS) added ten points for RCC.

Both teams return to action on Thursday, Feb. 12, in a pair of 5 p.m. tipoffs. Riverside will host Saddleback, while Irvine Valley will host Cypress.
