RIVERSIDE – The Saddleback College Gauchos men's basketball team led from start to finish and posted a 54-49 Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Wednesday evening (Jan. 8) at Wheelock Gymnasium.
The Riverside City (6-12, 0-1 OEC) men crept to within one point three times, but couldn't get over the hump.
Saddleback sophomore forward Andre McPhail (Deer Valley HS) paced the Gauchos (15-3, 1-0 OEC) with 12 points and a co-game-high seven rebounds. Saddleback is ranked eighth in the state.
RCC sophomore forward D.J. Muepo (Los Angeles / Dorsey HS) poured in a game-high 13 points and pulled down a game-high ten rebounds for the Tigers.
Riverside will return to action on Friday, Jan. 10, when it visits the Santa Ana College Dons. The men will play at 5:30 p.m.
