Nine Tigers Named to SCFA Scholar-Athlete Team

Nine Riverside City College student-athletes were named to the 2023 Southern California Football Association Scholar-Athlete Team.

To be eligible, student-athletes must have participated in two seasons at the collegiate level (or until forced out of competition by season-ending injury), successfully completed a minimum of 36 units (27 of which must be non-PE or sport activity courses), and achieved a minimum of a 3.0 overall grade point average.

Ayinde Bankole, Dante Byrd, Jessie Campbell, Matthew Eskridge, Jadon Furubotten, Edward Gilds, Muluken Haikus-Weaver, Marcus Jones, and Christian Perry earned the honor for the Tigers.

Eskridge and Heikaus-Weaver also were named to the 2023 Academic All-State Football Team by the California Community College Football Coaches Association.
