Lawrence Starks Named SCFA Offensive Player of the Week
Sophomore running back Lawrence Starks has been named the Southern California Football Association (SCFA) Offensive Player of the Week following his monster performance in a week nine victory over the El Camino College Warriors.
Starks has been a staple in the Tigers' ground game since conference play has begun. While averaging approximately 16 carries in the last three games, he broke out of his shell in week nine and exploded for 158 yards on 17 carries leading to a pair of rushing touchdown. Additionally, he averaged 9.8 yards-per-tote.
His longest run of the night was a 38-yard, fourth-quarter scurry to the zone. He had a five-yard barrel to the end zone right before halftime to hand the Tigers a 17-point advantage at the time.
Starks paces the Riverside rushing game as he current averages 51.1 yards-per-game and six yards per touch. He leads the team with 358 total rushing yards and is second with three rushing touchdowns.
