Quincy Wimbish Named Week Four Offensive All-Purpose Player of the Week

Sophomore running back Quincy Wimbish has been strapped in the Orange and Black since early last season. While he experienced minimal time in the back field last year, Wimbish has emerged as an unstoppable force during his current campaign. After setting career marks in a commanding victory over No. 11 Long Beach last Saturday, he has been named the week four Southern California Football Association (SCFA) All-Purpose Player of the Week.

Wimbish was a catalyst in the offensive scheme in many different ways. He paced the ground game by carrying the rock 12 times for a career-high 130 yards. Additionally, he was sophomore quarterback Stone Smartt's favorite target through the air. He caught four passes for 46 yards leading to a pair of touchdowns.

The Murrieta, CA native's numbers do not necessarily pop on paper, but his consistency and reliability is what shines. He is a lock to hold on to the ball as seen in zero fumbles. He has averaged 7.7 yards-per-carry with a team-high 48-yard rush. Additionally, he has been responsible for 238 all-purpose yards. He has nearly surpassed his 2017 marks in just three games this season in comparison to the 12 games he saw time in last year.

Wimbish joins freshman wide receiver and kick returner Tyler Kennedy in the SCFA Player of the Week honors this season. To view the complete list, please visit the SCFA website.
