Jash Allen Earns SCFA Central Week 10 Defensive Player of the Week Honors
The No. 2 Riverside City College football team has positioned themselves as top contenders in the state following an imposing 51-14 victory over the Long Beach City College Vikings this past Saturday. Amidst the victory, there were a number of standout performances. The most applause worthy act was the defensive showing from freshman linebacker Jash Allen (Portland, OR) who was named the Southern California Football Association (SCFA) Central Division Week 10 Defensive Player of the Week.
Allen, who converted to the opposite side of the pigskin at the halfway point of the year, began to make waves in the line backing core immediately. The former tailback had a career game in Saturday's victory highlighted by a 49-yard pick six to put the Tigers up by 30 points at the time. Furthermore, he finished second on the tem with six tackles that included one tackle for a loss of two yards.
So far this season, Allen has recorded 25 total tackles and 2.5 sacks in just three starts on the defensive end. He ranks seventh on his team in tackles.
