David Martinez enters his second-consecutive season with the Tigers. Martinez’ last RCC stint with RCC lasted two years before he accepted the Pitching Coach/Recruiting Coordinator position at University of Nevada - Las Vegas, but not after the Tigers captured their fourth state title. While at UNLV, he guided the Running Rebels pitching staff for three years (2008-10) before taking on the same position with the University of New Mexico Lobos from 2011 & 2012. During both those years, the Lobos qualified for NCAA Regional play.

Martinez then accepted the Pitching Coach/Recruiting Coordinator position at Dixie Sate. During his three years there, the Red Storm earned NCAA Tournament berths in each season and won the Pacific West Conference championships in 2013 & 2014.

Shortly after, Martinez took on the task of rebuilding the program at Cal State San Bernardino as the Head Baseball Coach in 2015. He guided the Coyotes to a NCAA tournament berth in one of the two years at the helm. He then took on another pitching coach/recruiting coordinator position at Cal State Dominguez Hills in 2017.

David and his wife Saraya are the parents of two children, Andrew and Sofia.
