Riverside City College committed some costly mistakes in a 9-5 loss on the road to Fullerton College Tuesday afternoon.
The Tigers slip to 23-12 overall and 8-8 in the Orange Empire Conference, while the Hornets improve to 21-14 on the year and 9-7 in conference.
As a team, RCC had eight hits in the game, but committed six errors. Alex Gamez (2-for-3) and Arturo Rodriguez (2-for-4) led the Tigers with two hits each, while Eddie Alfaro, Dylan Nelson, Richard Tejeda, and Dane Lujan also had hits.
Jordan Townley (five strikeouts), Dakota Gray (three strikeouts), and Alex Navarrete (two strikeouts) combined for 10 strikeouts and just two earned runs.
The Tigers and Hornets continue the series on Thursday in Riverside at 2 p.m.
