Tigers Seeded No. 10 in CCCAA South Regional Playoffs; Visit No. 7 Seed Pasadena This Weekend
RIVERSIDE -- Receiving a berth in the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Southern California Regional playoffs, but not expecting to open postseason play on the road, the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers men's baseball team has been seeded No. 10 and will visit the No. 7-seeded Pasadena City College (PCC) Lancers in a "best-of-three" series beginning Friday, May 5, and continuing through Saturday, May 6.
First pitch on Friday, May 5 is set for 2 p.m. The first game (of possibly two) on Saturday, May 6. If necessary, a third game would start 30 minutes after the conclusion of Saturday's first game (game two).
Riverside City, which is 29-11 overall, finished second in the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) with a 15-6 mark. Top-seeded Orange Coast (31-9 overall) won the OEC with a 16-5 ledger.
Pasadena City, which is 24-13 overall, finished first in the South Coast Conference - North Division (SCC-North) at 15-7. In the South Coast Conference - South Division (SCC-South), El Camino (33-7 overall) lost its last five games and Long Beach City (26-13-1 overall) won its last six games to forge a tie atop the SCC-South standings at 17-5.
Riverside won CCCAA state titles in 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2007.
