White & Bergen Earn First Victory at Top, Riverside Falls to COD

The Riverside City College women's beach volleyball team hit the road on Friday morning to take on the College of the Desert Road Runners in non-conference action. The Tigers lost their third-consecutive game, with the last two being by just a mere match, after the middle of the order was swept in straight sets.

After dropping their first five matches, freshman duo Azriel White and Lanah Bergen etched their first collegiate win at the top. They battled after dropping their opening set, 13-21, but roared back to take the final two sets with scores reading 21-19, 15-10.

Freshman tandem Paris Toaetolu and Kelly Moore came through with the lone two-set victory at the fifth position reading 21-14, 21-16.

Freshman duo Jada Cottom and Kaylee Torres lost by 17 points in the first set, but showed some improvement by only falling in the second set at 21-23.
