Beach Volleyball Advances Two Individual Pairs to SoCal Regional Round

The Riverside City College beach volleyball squad continued to compete in the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Individual Championships on Friday evening taking place on the campus of Golden West College. The Tigers saw two pairs place in the top-five to qualify for the California Community College Athletic Asosciation (CCCAA) Southern regional round.

Freshman Natalie Escher and sophomore Brittney Diffine played well and defeated a tough Irvine Valley team to advance after being the fourth-ranked squad. They earn a victory by the final scores of 22-20, 21-17. The pair will receive the third overall seed entering into the SoCal Regional round.

Sophomore Marcella Rodriguez and freshman Julia Balancier followed with a victory over Cypress with scores reading 21-15, 21-15. After being deemed the 11th seed at the beginning of the championships, they will advance to SoCal Regional round as the fifth overall seed.
