Beach Volleyball Splits, Sweeps Antelope Valley
The Riverside City College beach volleyball team hit the shore on Friday morning by facing off against Santa Ana College and Antelope Valley College. The Tigers split on the day highlighted by a sweep over AVC.
All but one doubles team earned straight-set sweeps in the victory over Antelope Valley. Freshman tandem Julia Balancier (Moreno Valley, CA) and Natalie Escher (Redlands, CA) acted as the number two team and routed their opponent by final set scores of 21-5, 21-15. Freshman Madison Bogh and Roni Lopez followed at the third position and earned a victory by the final count of 21-13, 21-16.
Sophomore Delany Beck (Riverside, CA) and freshman Lauren Dunmore (Northridge, CA) earned a strong victory at the four position with the final score reading 21-14, 21-15. Sophomore duo Brittney Diffine (Riverside, CA) and Marcella Rodriguez (Belize City, Belize) earned the lone three-set win with a thrilling third set reading 15-13. They won the opening set 24-24.
The Tigers will continue action on Friday, March 30th as they take on Santa Ana and Orange Coast on the road.
