Tigers Lose To Cypress and Fullerton Last Friday
HUNTINGTON BEACH -- Losing a pair of Orange Empire Conference (OEC) matches last Friday (Mar. 11), the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers women's beach (sand) volleyball squad is .500 after the first two weeks of the season.
Riverside City (2-2 overall, 0-2 OEC) lost, 0-5, to the host Cypress College Chargers before losing, 2-3, to the Fullerton College Hornets last Friday (Mar. 11) at Newland Court at Huntington Beach.
Fullerton (3-1 overall, 2-0 OEC) defeated Cypress (2-2 overall, 1-1 OEC), 4-1.
Against Fullerton, the Tiger tandems of Melissa Moe and Hailey Krewson and Briana Fonseca and Tierra Lloyd posted victories at Nos. 4 & 5 pairs. At No. 4 pairs, Moe/Krewson defeated Mikki Sale/Shawnee Longmeyer, 21-17, 21-13. At No. 5 pairs, Fonseca/Lloyd won, 22-20, 21-18, over Ellen Hansen/Alyssa Jensen.

Riverside will continue regular season action on Friday, Mar. 18, when it visits the Orange Coast College (OCC) Pirates for an OEC twin-bill with the Pirates and Saddleback College Gauchos beginning at 10 a.m.
