Swimming & Diving Competes in Second OEC Showdown

The Riverside City College men's and women's swimming and diving programs competed in the second Orange Empire Conference (OEC) invitational of the season. The women performed well by placing second overall, while the men landed third on the podium.

WOMEN

The Tigers saw six swimmers accumulate over 40 points to highlight their team's performances. Lauren Loffelmacher led the Tigers with 60 points. Lindsay Habegger earned 49 points, while Grace Deen followed with 47 points to round out the top three.

Loffelmacher earned a clean sweep by finishing first in all three events she swam. She began her day with a first place in the 400 IM (5:01.20), backed by two gold medal showings in the 100 Back (1:03.59) and the 200 Back (2:17.39).

Habegger climbed the podium three times featuring a second-place mark in the 100 Free (58.60). She earned two bronze medals coming in the 50 Free (26.80) and the 200 Free (2:07.33).

Deen earned a pair of silver medals coming in the 100 Fly (1:10.82) and the 200 Fly (2:39.55). She started her day with a sixth-place finish in the 400 IM (5:28.70). Anabelle Storar earned a top finish in the 200 Fly (2:26.94) to complete the top marks.

MEN

Gerardo Garcia was the highest-performer with 48 overall points. Marius Mora followed with 45 points, while Alexandre Le Cornec pocketed 41 points. Tyler LeDet earned 40 points as well.

Garcia landed first overall in the 200 Fly (2:01.64) to highlight his day. He narrowly missed the podium in the 500 Free (5:01.92) to place fourth, while rounding out his day with a sixth place mark in the 100 Back (1:03.27).

Marius landed in the top five in each event he participated. He placed third overall in the 200 Free (1:51.18), while placing fourth in the 50 Free (22.13) and fifth in the 100 Free (50.11).

LeDet touched the wall first in both of his events coming in the 500 Free (4:44.14) and the 200 Back (1:59.50). Le Cornec followed with the bronze medal in the 1650 Free (17:57.17) to go along with two top eight finishes in the 200 Free (1:52.87) and the 400 IM (4:37.97). All of his times came in well under his seeding marks.

Ryland Cummings earned the top clip in the 100 Back (56.38) to round out the top performances for the Tigers.
