Swimming & Diving Sweeps Golden West Invitational

The Riverside City College swimming & diving program traveled to Huntington Beach, CA on Friday morning to compete in the Golden West Invitational. Both side dominated the competition as the men placed first with an overall point total of 431 and the women placed first after amassing 307 total points.

Erick Fathoni was the top pointer getter for Riverside for the second-consecutive meet as he accumulated 39 points. He earned a first place finish in the 100 Fly (51.82) and the 500 Free (4:39.41), while placing second in the 50 Back (26.39). Sophomore Javier Bernal reigned supreme in the 200 IM (2:02.02) and placed third in the 50 Back (28.81) to amass 30 total points.

Sennes Chow earned a frits-place nod in the 50 Free (22.27), while Zack Thelwell touched the wall first in the 100 Back (56.65).

Hannah Beth Cain paced the Tigers with a team-best 38 points. She earned a pair of victories on the day beginning with a 1:05.62 mark in the 100 Back. She continued on to place first in the 50 Back with a mark of 30.21, while placing third in the 200 IM at a time of 2:37.99.

Liz Bouffort recorded 36 points for Riverside highlighted by a victory in the 50 Free with a clip of 26.93. She went on to place second in the 100 Free (56.62) and the 50 Back (32.85).

Mackenzie Herndon touched the wall first in the 50 Breastroke at a time of 35.40, while sophomore Calean Loroff was the top finisher in the 200 Free with a time of 2:07.35, while
