Kate Fox & Malik Walker Named Student-Athlete Advisory Council September Athletes of the Month

It was voted on by the Riverside City College Athletics' Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) that sophomore Kate Fox of the women's water polo team sophomore Malik Walker of the football team have been named September Athletes of the Month by S.A.A.C. team representatives.

In order to be nominated for S.A.A.C. Athlete of the Month, a student-athlete must display an exemplary attitude both on and off their respected playing field. They must perform well in the classroom and in competition while consistently representing Riverside Athletics in a positive manner.

Kate Fox

After solidifying herself as a strong presence following her inaugural campaign in 2017 as seen in reaching Second-Team All-Conference, All-Southern California, and All-American status, Fox has picked up right where she left off. She currently paces her team with 46 goals and 32 drawn ejections. In 15 games as the starting center, she has scored in every game she has played in with a season-high six goals in a victory over Ventura. She has also swiped 23 steals and dished out six assists. Her goals total ranks third in the Orange Empire Conference and 15th in the state.

Malik Walker

Walker has manned the backfield since the early stages of last season and has continued to make a statement in the second year. He has constructed a home in the end zone and has not planned on leaving. He currently paces team with seven rushing touchdowns leading to 445 yards and 89 yards-per-game. Furthermore, he has surpassed the century mark in rushing and has scored at least one touchdown in every game.
