The Tiger's continued their 2017 campaign on Friday, March 4, with the quad meet against University of California in Riverside, California State University in Fullerton, and Pepperdine University.  The Tiger's continued to improve and show to be a well-rounded team with the sprints starting to get going this weekend having two young men, Jonathan Essien (Martin Luther King HS) and Korey Parsons (Martin Luther King HS), break the 11-second barrier, 10.78 and 10.86 respectively.  From the middle distance, Alec Hall (Norco HS) came in second in the 1500m race running a new PR of 3:59.15 behind UCR's Carlos Lopez.  The Hurdle crew came up with some solid performances with Brian Cervantes (Indio HS) running a 15.64 in the 110HH.  Anthony Butts (Ramona HS) and Keeon Thomas (Landstown HS) ran two great early marks in the 400H with a 56.07 and 56.71 respectively.  In the throws, Kyle Jenkins (San Gorgonio HS) continued to show he is going to be a force to be reckoned with this season throwing a lifetime PR in the shot of 52'11, which puts him a little over a foot into the top spot in the state.  Jenkins also added two solid performances in the discus and hammer hitting 163' in the hammer and a new PR of 145'7 in the discus.

"Today's meet against UCR, CSUF and Pepperdine was a lot of fun.  It was great seeing former Tigers Zack Lewis and Jake Porter thriving at UCR.  We look forward to caring on this tradition for many years to come."- Head Coach Jim McCarron

The Tigers are going to be busy next week with the Orange Empire Conference being held at RCC and the Ben Brown Invitational at Cal State Fullerton this weekend.  Full results from this meet can be found at https://www.directathletics.com/results/track/49304.html
